Meet the team: Five minutes with Molly

Building relationships with our amazing participants is a top priority here at Angelfish Opinions! 

From those who are looking to get their voice heard on the products and services they love most to those who are hoping to earn extra money on the side at the same time, we’re always eager to get to know you. 

With that in mind, we also thought you would enjoy the chance to get to know us a bit better, too!

In the last ‘Five Minutes With’ blog we shared, we introduced you to our wonderful Director & Co-Founder Lisa. This time, we’ve asked Molly, one of our fabulous Project Managers, to answer some questions about herself.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in market research?

I can’t say it’s something I went looking for as I didn’t know it existed… it was the company and the team itself that was the biggest draw for me initially, but it’s such an exciting and constantly changing industry that it definitely keeps us on our toes!  

What’s your favourite part of the job?

I love that every day is different, and I get to speak to some really interesting people that I would not have otherwise crossed paths with. It’s also the best feeling when we manage to crack a really tricky recruit too and get the best results for our clients! 

Tell us about an interesting project you’ve recently worked on and why you enjoyed it

We recently did a project for a large telecoms company with people that make decisions within businesses to discuss some ideas around upcoming TV adverts. We tried a different approach where we video validated respondents, which got some fab people booked in. I also recently saw the adverts which had been heavily influenced by the voices of our respondents, which was really exciting to see!  

What about a challenge you’ve recently faced and how you solved it?

I think 2020 in itself was a challenge for everyone! But it’s been great to work with our clients and still be able to get them really valuable insights, even with losing some of the face-to-face elements of the research we do. We’ve also been able to open up new avenues to hear the voices of even more people, which is amazing!  

What are your professional goals for the next year?

To just keep learning and developing as much as I can as a Project Manager – every day is a school day! 

And how about the next market research industry trend?

I don’t know if it’s so much a trend… but it will be really interesting to see if face-to-face research like interviews and focus groups are as prevalent or if things will stay more remote. With the ability to reach and hear from so many more people, I just wonder if we will go back to the traditional methods!

Who inspires you and why?  

 Lots of people inspire me but I’m always inspired by the lovely people I work with – it’s such a great team and we manage to keep each other very positive and pull together whatever gets thrown at us!
