Angelfish Opinions Newsletter 4

Angelfish Opinions | Newsletter #4 – January to March 2026

Hello from Ellie 👋

Ellie Wilson

Hi everyone! I’m Ellie, a Project Executive here at Angelfish, and I’ve now officially been part of the team for six fantastic months. In that time, I’ve worked on all sorts of projects — from beauty and skincare to dining, sport, audiobooks, and more — and have loved chatting to so many of you in our Angelfish Opinions community.

Helping match people to projects they genuinely enjoy is one of the best parts of my job, and your lovely feedback always puts a smile on my face. If you fancy leaving us a review, you can do so on Google or Trustpilot.

Grab a cuppa and enjoy this quarter’s round‑up of what’s new, what you’ve shared with us, and what’s coming up at Angelfish HQ…

Quick Explainer: What is a market research online community?

A market research online community is a flexible, interactive way to take part in research over several days – usually through an app or secure online platform. You might be asked to complete short tasks, share opinions, upload photos or videos, or reflect on your daily habits.

They’re great because you can complete tasks on the go (often via smartphone, unless specified otherwise). While daily participation is usually preferred, you can take part whenever it works for you – whether that’s during your commute, on your lunch break, or after you’ve put the kids to bed.

Community Insights: What You Told Us About Brand Closeness 🛍

We recently reached out to some of our lovely community members to ask which brands you feel closest to – and why. As always, your answers were honest, thoughtful, and full of surprises. Here are a few highlights:

1. You feel closest to the brands that simply… show up

You shared that brands like Amazon, Apple, John Lewis, Samsung and Octopus Energy stand out – not because of hype or price, but because they’re genuinely helpful when you need support. Fast replies and fair treatment go a long way!

2. Quick replies = instant loyalty

The biggest thing that makes a brand feel “close” is how fast they respond when you reach out. It’s not about perks – it’s simply about being quick, human, and helpful.

3. Shared values matter

Lots of you said you naturally lean towards brands that care about what you care about – things like sustainability, inclusivity, and fairness. Even if you don’t interact with them often, their values help build trust.

Feedback of the Quarter

We absolutely love this thoughtful review left by Gregory R on Trustpilot after taking part in an IKEA project with us:

“[I took part] in the ‘Angelfish Opinions’ IKEA project. It was an in‑house visit for this project in early February 2026!

I was excited to be part of this new venture. I was not disappointed, and the various interactions with their project team were very engaging. We had some interesting discussions, and I must say it was all very constructive and meaningful!

Thank you once again, Angelfish, for the opportunity to be part of your many ongoing projects, and I look forward to making further contributions!”

Thank you, Gregory – we appreciate you!

Behind the Scenes at Angelfish HQ

A little peek behind the curtain…

  • We’re thrilled to have Amelia joining us on a university placement, where she’ll spending three months learning all about market research, participant recruitment, and how a research business really runs.
  • February also saw the whole team come together for a full team meeting (with breakfast, of course!). We spent time discussing how we can continue to improve our recruitment processes and project delivery – and we came away with some strong ideas ready to take into the new financial year.
  • On 18th March, the team took part in Joe Wicks’ Movement Hour, a nationwide initiative encouraging businesses to give employees an hour to prioritise their physical and mental wellbeing. With the sun finally making an appearance, most of us headed outside to enjoy the fresh air and soak up the spring weather.

🌟 Starfish Shout-Outs

Each quarter, we celebrate community members who go the extra mile. This time, two brilliant respondents — Janet and Varun — really caught our attention with their positivity. Each will receive a £20 eGift card as a thank you.

Keep an eye out… you might be next! ✨

🎶 Until Next Time…

Can you believe that the next time we publish one of these, it will already be summer? I can’t wait! I’ve already got a couple of music festivals lined up, and we’ll have the Cheltenham Festivals happening locally too.

See you then!
Ellie 💛
